Children
The children who come to live at Agua Viva are typically placed voluntarily by their family members for their own safety and well-being. For instance, our children may come from a broken home or an abusive home environment. Sometimes the family member cannot meet the needs of the child and work to support the family. Often the younger children will come to live at Agua Viva, frequently on a temporary basis, until the parent can get back on their feet. Another common situation is when the child is being raised by a grandparent that becomes infirm and there are no other family members that can care for the child. Our children are seldom orphaned and we encourage family involvement and visitation.
