Volunteer Opportunities
We have many opportunities available for those who are led by God to work and minister to the children of Agua Viva. Short-term missionary positions include teachers, team hosts, and other opportunities to minister as the Lord provides.
Teachers
We can use teachers in our school - specifically those who can teach English as a Second Language, science and computer. Teachers serve from January through October and are provided room and board. Funds for other expenses are raised by the missionary teacher.
Team Hosts
Every summer we welcome mission teams from all over the USA. Team hosts act as liaison between the team and the home administration, answering questions, helping with orientation, and facilitating work projects. The hosts are generally married couples who are fluent in Spanish. The term of service for team hosts is from May through August.
Short-term Missionary Requirements
- Missionaries need to be fluent in the Spanish language or attend Spanish language school prior to serving at Agua Viva
- Applicants need to complete an application and provide two letters of recommendation
- Missionaries need to raise their own support and must carry medical insurance
- Applicants go through a rigorous background check
- Applicants must be willing to have a face to face interview with the Executive Vice President and/or the Board President and with the Agua Viva Director in Guatemala
