The purpose of Agua Viva is to rear and educate impoverished children in Guatemala in a loving Christian environment to be successful, Christian adults with the desire and ability to help their own people. More specifically, Agua Viva:

1. Provides the children with quality shelter, food, clothing, health, and education in a loving and safe, permanent home," environment.
2. Teaches life skills necessary for the children to be prepared to successfully function in the world.
3. Teaches and trains the children in the truths of the Bible to be mature, responsible Christian adults with the desire and ability to help others. This involves: (a) teaching the children and staff about the love of Christ through prayer, Bible study, service, worship, and by example, (b) preparing the children for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up, and (c) discerning the gifts, talents, and direction that God has given to each of the children, then, providing opportunities for the children to develop their gifts.
4. Encourages the parents (or primary care-givers) of the children to become the spiritual leaders and godly examples that God desires in the home.

We believe the Bible to be the divinely inspired Word of God, the only infallible rule of faith and practice.

We believe that there is One God, eternally existent in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit; the Trinity.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death on the cross through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for the salvation of lost and sinful man and comes by faith alone in Christ alone.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost: the saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ.
